Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on sealogical.com, what they do, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Notice.

Sealogical is a trading name of MXMG Ltd (UK ICO registration ZA932873). Where we act as the data controller for personal data collected via cookies, we are responsible under the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) for obtaining your consent before setting non-essential cookies on your device.

1. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the operators of the site. We also use similar technologies such as local storage where appropriate; throughout this policy "cookies" refers to all such technologies.

2. How we use cookies

We only set non-essential cookies after you have given consent through the cookie banner that appears when you first visit the site. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer or the button below.

3. Categories of cookie we use

[*]Strictly necessary

These cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They do not store any information that personally identifies you.

CookiePurposeDuration
sl_cookie_consentStores the cookie preferences you have chosen so we don't ask again on every page load.12 months

[*]Analytics

These cookies help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4. Until you give consent, Google Analytics runs in consent-denied mode and does not set identifying cookies on your device.

CookiePurposeDuration
_gaUsed by Google Analytics to distinguish users.2 years
_ga_<ID>Used by Google Analytics to persist session state for a specific property.2 years

[*]Preferences

These would store UI choices such as dismissed prompts. We do not currently set any preference cookies, but the category is listed in our banner so that we can be transparent if we add any in the future.

4. Third-party services

Embedded content and third-party services may set their own cookies if you interact with them. For example, opening our WhatsApp chat link redirects you to WhatsApp, where their own cookie policy applies. We do not control these cookies; please refer to the respective providers' policies.

5. How to change or withdraw consent

You can change your cookie preferences at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you did so.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies or delete existing ones. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

6. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to the cookies we use, we will update this page and, where appropriate, request your consent again. The version of our consent record is incremented when this happens, which causes the banner to reappear.

7. Contact us
